Covid 19 Update

Dear First Missionary Baptist Church Family & Friends,

The news continues to change repeatedly regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID – 19). The following information is directly from the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH). Both agencies continue to closely monitor the outbreak of respiratory illnesses caused by the novel (new) coronavirus COVID -19 and are working to limit the spread of cases nationally and in Mississippi.

Considering the above we will be unable to open the doors to our church buildings for our public weekend service or any other meetings and activities until further notice. We will be reevaluating periodically in case there are changes in recommendations and requirements

However, it is with a joyful heart to inform you that we will be holding our worship service exclusively online-Facebook, soon to be livestreaming (more to follow). Remember our church is not a brick and mortar, but a community of people. Our Church online services times will be Sundays, 0900am, Praise and Worship-Announcements, 0945, and Sunday Service at 1000.

These are difficult times. Your family feels it. My family feels it with you. Some people are not only feeling uncertainty and anxiety but are experiencing pain financially and otherwise. Please stay connected with us on our social media platforms for opportunities to serve and help those in our communities who need help.

If you are able, continue giving your Tithes and Offering. Our Deacons are in front of the church foyer accepting tithes and offering, 0900-1130. As you can imagine, closing our doors for weeks and months can have a substantial impact on our Church.

If you are struggling, let your church know. Do not go without food or gas. Reach out to us. Your church will try to help you the best we can. My family, your elders, Pastors and leaders are praying for you. If you need prayer, please let us know and share your request. You are not alone.

We don’t know what is ahead for us, but we do know who holds the future. We are in this together. We will get through this. We will come out on the other side victorious and with joy!

With all my love,

Pastor Eric E. Dickey
